This is mysterious. Mysterious errors are often due to old graphics drivers. Please update your graphics driver to the most recent one from Dell.

Another possibility is that it is a bug in the user interface toolkit ChimeraX uses. Please try the ChimeraX daily build (it has a new version) and let us know if it has the same problem.

Thanks,

Greg

Hi Greg,

The driver is up to date. I already try with daily and I only got the
splash screen (the one with welcome to chimeraX). With the 0.9 the menu
bar become unvisible at the loading of a PDB file. I attach the
correspondin image.

Hope this helps,

Gilbert

Do you know what is the version number for your Intel graphics driver? On my home desktop, an Intel graphics update broke ChimeraX and I had to roll back to the previous driver to get things working again.

This is a duplicate of #2440. The solution was to install an earlier version of the graphics driver.

Hello,

For your records, the driver number is HD 615 26.20.100.6952.

I will try to go back to an earlier version (as Greg said).

Sorry for the troubles,

SY

It is a graphics driver problem. My old driver was HD 530 25.20.100.xxxx which works (worked) with ChimeraX. I just installed the latest from Intel: 26.20.100.7323. ChimeraX now exhibits exactly the behavior you describe. And Windows is no longer allowing me to roll back to my previous driver!

I went to https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/29113/Intel-Graphics-Windows-10-DCH-Drivers?product=80939 and downloaded version 25.20.100.6519 of the driver (https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/28514/Intel-Graphics-Windows-10-DCH-Drivers) and now ChimeraX appears to work again. So, for my HD 530 Intel graphics, ChimeraX breaks somewhere between 25.20.100.6519 and 26.20.100.7323. Maybe you can try the last 25.x.x.x or the first 26.x.x.x to see if either of those work for you.
