Hello, I want to use ChimeraX on Windows 10 64 bits and the software don't start, do you know why ?

Is there any sort of error message when ChimeraX doesn't start? Do you see a picture of a bunch of people standing before it fails? And how are you starting it -- from a shortcut on the Desktop?

This is a duplicate of #2440. The solution was to install an earlier version of the graphics driver.

Sorry, this might be a different bug. To see, please run the dxdiag program (you can find the dxdiag program by typing it into the Windows search box in the lower left of your screen). Then click the button to save all of the information. And then send us the file that was generated. That way we will see the graphics solution and what kind of computer you have. Thanks.

Thank you. So your version of the graphics driver looks like it would work. But we know that the current Windows update installs an Intel HD graphics driver that breaks ChimeraX. Since the symptoms are similar, we will let you know when we think ChimeraX should work with Intel HD graphics again. And if that version of ChimeraX still doesn't work, we will dig into your problem even deeper.

We believe the Intel Graphics issues have been resolved as much as possible. The workaround to the graphics driver issue is not perfect, but ChimeraX should start and be usable, with a few oddities like black title bars and edges. Please try the release candidate and see if it resolves this issue.

Newer Intel drivers work. In fact, the workaround broke ChimeraX with the new driver, so the workaround is limited drivers where the last number is between 6708 and 8280.
