Description

Dear Chimera X people,

I've tried to download Chimera X to my computer, but after downloading the .exe file it just says "failed" after the file. I've attached a screenshot.
My computer has Windows 10 Enterprise installed, version 21H1, 64 bit.
When I click on the file I get the message: "This app can't run on your PC. To find a version for your PC, check with the software publisher."
Can you let me know which version of your programme will run on my computer?

Thanks,
Ron

Nothing is blocking the download on our end. If you can view the ChimeraX download page, you should be able to download it.

It makes sense that ChimeraX didn't install after downloading the installer failed. Do you get any error message when the download fails? If so, what is it. And if not, you might find additional information in the Windows Event Viewer (type "event viewer" in the Start menu search bar). The most likely things that would prevent the download from succeeding would be your anti-virus software or a poor internet connection. If it is the former, then I would expect an error message from the antivirus software, so you would need to temporarily disable the anti-virus software, but it doesn't appear that you're getting that far. If it is the internet connection, then doing the download at work instead of at home might help. Another thing to try would be a different web browser, eg., Chrome or Firefox -- I wouldn't expect to make a difference, but it might. If none of the above helps, you'll need to enlist your University's support folks.

Best wishes and please let us know what the solution turns out to be or if you have more questions,

Greg
