This crash appears to have happened at startup when file history thumbnail images are first shown. It is using a recent version of ChimeraX (June 26, 2021) that includes a possible fix I put in on May 28, 2021 for exactly this crash, where it waits to until the main window is shown before showing file history. Apparently this fix does not fix the crash. The problem looks almost surely like a Qt window toolkit bug. Hopefully it will be fixed in a future Qt update.
