Description

Maybe only I will experience this, due to my tiny window predilection... and it may not be fixable with reasonable effort, so feel free to prioritize as desired or note as wontfix. I had a 256x256 graphics window for the purpose of making images, but when I used molmap to create a new map, the Volume Viewer expanded vertically, and that automatically made the graphics window taller too (256x347). This is in the Qt version, of course.

The volume viewer dialog expanded and forced the main window to get bigger, probably because all the tool panels on the right did not fit vertically in the window. Each tool has a minimum size — I think Model Panel has the larges minimum size currently. It may not be possible to avoid the main window resizing if the docked panels will not fit — I suspect it is not possible. If it does resize we could attempt to keep the graphics window region the same size, not filling the available area. Chimera 1 has some mode that does that. I think this is too obscure a problem to work on. The sensible solution is use a bigger window size, say 500 x 500 and if you want to save smaller images specify the smaller size in the save image command. Not the most convenient I realize.

If the docked tool panels don't fit they will cause the main window to expand. I think this is reasonable.
