Description
I'd thought that if we had cartoon-style presets (#297) that one of them would be "default" allowing returning to all default parameters. However, seems like the presets will take some work...
This ticket is to ask if in the meanwhile, it would be possible to add something simpler (without a whole presets mechanism) to get back to the default cartoon-style parameters, short of having to close and reopen structures. I was trying to make some nice examples/images for the documentation and having to close/reopen to start over was frustrating.
Maybe "cartoon style" option "reset" or "reset true" that would override any other options given in the same cartoon style command and get back to default values of everything. I don't know if that breaks the "cartoon style" scheme or philosophy... so willing to be shot down, and open to other suggestions, if any.
The inspiration is "lighting" which has extremely convenient presets in addition to the ability to set individual parameters one by one. It's simpler, however, since lighting is global rather than a model or residue setting.
we added a Ribbons/Slabs preset to do this ages ago
