Discussion

• N453 network broadcast storm
  • Greg submitted UCSF IT ticket.
  • They have identified the culprit switch ports and will Zoom with Greg to discuss next step.
  • Greg says hour dhcp server log had used up all its disk space logging IP requests due to the Cisco phone BOOTP packets. He compressed them to recover 75% disk space.

• Code signing documentation
  • Eric showed Mac code signing documentation on ChimeraX wiki under Accessing Apple Developer program.
  • Greg is still working on Windows code signing.
  • Greg says windows signing docs will not involve any passwords or private info since the secure steps are carried out through UCSF IT requests.
  • Since the Windows Yubi key signing is tricky Greg wants to put documentation in public place on ChimeraX wiki so others can benefit.
  • We will also put links on the ​Chimera intranet site to the signing documentation.

• Chimera graphics problem on Tahoe
  • Eric will next try adding Info.plist key telling Tahoe not to use new Liquid Glass graphics style to see if that fixes the graphics positioning.
  • If that doesn't work he will look at the Togl window offsets to see if they differ when the graphics is correct vs incorrect, and if they differ where they get set.

• Chimera Windows builds
  • Chimera Windows builds are working again since Greg disabled IPv6 on the build machine james.
  • The network broadcast storm is what was slowing james down so it could not complete builds. Now they are working with ipv6 disabled.

• Backup disk for james
  • We should get a 320 GB backup disk and clone the james disk as a backup.
  • This will preserve the chimera windows build environment in case of disk failure.
  • TomG will look at getting a sata ssd drive (cost < $50).
  • Greg would like to make a virtual machine from the current james disk image on plato.
