Description
Would like non-uniform scaling support with a shift (analogous to the vec4 instance_shift_and_scale) in the vertex shader and in the Places class. That would reduce the amount of data needed to instance boxes (2 vec3s instead of a mat4 instance_placement). Could be used for cylinder instancing with a similar memory savings.

Good point. Request withdrawn.

Don't the boxes needed for nucleotides have to be individually rotated? If so then they need the 4x4 matrix instancing.
