I think 2d labels should also close when you simply close all models with "close". But oddly 2d labels are not a model (while 3d labels are a model). I think 2d labels should become a model. This would be nice for easily hiding all the labels. Could even have each individual label as a submodel on a "2D labels" top level model so each label could be shown or hidden with model panel.

I definitely think 2D labels should go away with “close session” but I wouldn’t really expect them to go away with “close” … you might want to leave a general title up but open some different structures, or retain position/font and just change the text later. I might expect windows with data directly derived from the model(s) that were closed to go away with simple “close", however, like chain-interface diagrams and pseudobond histograms. Sequences less so, because a sequence could still be used on its own or associated with different structures later. You can’t reattach a histogram or diagram once its 3D data is closed. These different types of content are all gray areas, though.

Hey, now “close” removes the 2D labels! :-( It doesn’t change the background color, which is also not explicitly associated with the 3D data, so I don’t think it should remove the 2D labels. I may have spent some time getting the right position/size/color for titling and don’t appreciate having to close models individually if I want to keep it. If people don’t want to retain the 2D lables, they can use “close session."

Close always removed the 2d labels. But I've changed it just now so it does not close them.
