Description
How to install the ChimeraX icon on the desktop is poorly documented. The "linux xdg-install" command will install the icon and create a desktop shortcut, but the user should remember to "linux xdg-uninstall" before installing the next version. And if ChimeraX is installed via yum/dnf/apt, then those have already been created. It just the desktop shortcut isn't on the desktop.

Getting rid of generic .tar.gz distribution.
Note:
See TracTickets
for help on using tickets.
With the generic build moving to a flatpak, all Linux installations will have the system .desktop file. So this might just be a documentation issue.
