It looks like you are running Linux with Wayland. That is probably what causes this OpenGL graphics error at startup. We put a fix into the ChimeraX daily build a few weeks ago for this problem. Try the ChimeraX daily build and please report if that worked. Thanks!

Thank you for your response.
I tested chimerax-daily version 1.4 on the same wsl2 ubuntu 20.04 system and Ryzen5-RADEON platform with newest adrenaline driver.
After installation, following message was output.
After typing chimera-daily, the main window was popped up, but small popup-windows were sticked left top-conner and did not move. Same thing was also observed at ver1.3.

That's my fault. We are in the process of reorganizing some of our source code. I will have a fix in tomorrow's daily build.

Moved most of core/__main__.py into core/__init__.py since, as far as I know, it's at least inconvenient (if not impossible) to import code from a module's __main__.py so it should stay pretty minimal. See tkinter/__main__.py

I'll look closer later, but ouch. Sounds it like it would be better to put main in its own package for now. Perhaps chimerax/main/init.py. Besides, it's easy to import: from chimerax.core import __main__.

You can import __main__ from the shell, but if you type __main__. and press tab it looks like the only useful attribute that it has is the session.

I guess the ChimeraX Linux daily build installer is broken. Hopefully it will be fixed tomorrow. You will need a daily build created June 21, 2022 or later.

Hi,
I tested the newest chimerax-daily.deb(built: 2022-06-22 03:28:47 PDT).
Installation does not have any problem.
After starting, small pop of bug report attached at the left top conner. I could not make it move nor input any word, even nor press cancel.
I tried to type "open mypdb.cif" in the appearing command line under the main window.
However, the window was closed down with a message of Segmentation fault.

The original OpenGL error was fixed by using a daily build.
I made a new ticket #7151 for the subsequent problems.
