Could you try a newer daily build, Elaine? I think this is the same error from #5984 and the daily build your log shows is from a week and a half ago or so.

It's hard for me to say whether that fixes it or not, because with the older daily build, it only happens sometimes (Eric said when it checks the toolshed for something).  So the older daily build might give the traceback occasionally but I used it over 20 other times and it did not.  So yes the daily build I just got now didn't give me a traceback on one single startup, but I don't have much confidence that it's any more fixed than the one I had before.  Doesn't it only check once a week or something like that?

I'm not sure what the interval is, but I can say what gives me confidence that a solution has been found:

In the other ticket, I noted that the root cause of the issue was that I had changed the name of the method throwing the error here in the client definition, but had not updated it in chimerax.core.toolshed -- I had forgotten to push a commit which accounted for the change. I pushed the commit 9 days ago, so any daily builds after that should definitely use the new function, and the client which defines it. I think there might be a handful of daily build versions for which this functionality is broken (and will remain broken, since I'm not aware of a procedure we have for updating a daily build's bundles or how many users would follow through with that), but only a handful.

If you get the error in a daily build built on or after 25 January please let me know.
