By "Got up to 7.3 GB of files..." do you mean Task Manager reported ChimeraX memory use of 7.3 Gbytes? That would at least mean it is not in 32-bit mode which could only go up to 4 Gbytes. Still there should be no "out of memory" error on a system 16 Gbytes physical memory when only 7.3 Gbytes are being used and 128 Gbytes of swap is available.
Same problem as #4461.
