Basic Actions: showing ribbons unintuitive

Cartoon refused to show until after fiddling around with show/hide selection, show/hide models, select/deselect and show/hide surface

Probably the same issue as #2272 and #2312:  display hierarchy has model at the top.  If model display is disabled then atoms, cartoons, etc. won’t be visible.
