Select using click without drag

Description
Would like to be able to select by simply clicking with the left mouse button without dragging. Currently Hydra assigns the right mouse button to select but it can be assigned to other modes and then it is not possible to select. While we could copy Chimera 1 and use ctrl-left mouse to select I think a click with no modifiers is even better.
