It appears ChimeraX detected an invalid character in the PDB file encoding issuing a message "PDB file contains non-ASCII character or control character". But then it spewed a long traceback ending with a unicode decode error

UnicodeDecodeError: 'utf-8' codec can't decode byte 0xc0 in position 48:
invalid start byte

and that probably prevented the user from seeing the clear description of the error. Might be better not to include the traceback.

The user renamed a PyMOL session file to a ".pdb" suffix and tried to open that.
