ChimeraX not opening

Description
Hello, I'm having an issue where ChimeraX will not open. I've tried to open from the start menu, file location, and saved .cxs files. After trying to launch, ChimeraX flashes up in the task manager but then disappears entirely, same with the debug. Yesterday 6/27/18 I was able to use the program like normal however today 6/27/18 the program will not launch. The only changes to the computer (windows10) have been windows defender updates and update KB4284848 (OS Build 17134.137). To troubleshoot this I've re-installed ChimeraX, ran a system file check scan, ran ms safety scanner, tried to launch the program in a clean boot, and re-installed ChimeraX again. Between each of these steps the computer was re-started. Is there anything else I should try? Thanks, Cole

I started with the daily build from 6/8 then re-installed with today's daily build. A couple more questinons. Did ChimeraX ever work for you on that computer? If you start ChimeraX from a terminal, what output do you get?

I had been using ChimeraX for about a month on this computer before it stopped launching yesterday. On Windows 10 when I try to launch from the command prompt or PowerShell I don't get any errors, Just a new command line and I can launch other programs on the next line without an issue. Hi Cole,
If, when you start it from a shell, you add "--nogui" as an argument, what output do you get? If you eventually get a prompt you can then type ChimeraX commands, the most relevant of which is probably "quit". :-)

Seem like the problem is likely to be with ChimeraX cached settings, tool database, ... which could be fixed by deleting the ChimeraX cache files. I'm not sure where those are on Windows.

Launching from the PowerShell with the nogui argument doesn't prompt me to add any commands. ChimeraX will flash up for about a second in the task manager then disappears and isn't running anywhere in the task manager. Also I cleared all the files I thought were associated with chimera files from the %temp %, temp, local data temp, and prefig folders. Then I ran a disk cleanup. I searched the regedit but didn't see any indications of ChimeraX. Just checked on a Windows 10 machine using the ChimeraX command “info path” to find the location of the ChimeraX cache files: C:\Users\goddard\AppData\Local\UCSF\ChimeraX You could try deleting or moving that directory.
