• Ideas about #15998 (file history update problem)

Discussion

• File history save fails (#15998)
  • Saving session for one Windows users fails to write temp file when saving file history thumbnails.
  • Possible cause is security software locking the new temporary file.
  • Eric will inquire what security software user has.

• Roden Luo DiffFit toolshed bundle email address
  • Roden apparently does not want his email address visible on Toolshed so entered invalid email (AuthFirstName.AuthLastName@...).
  • This causes ChimeraX developers to get regular email saying that email address has no Trac account.
  • Suggest Roden remove email address (other bundles like ScholAR have no email address). Then add email info to description if he wishes.
  • Eric can make Trac account for Roden to receive bug reports. Trac hides assignee email addresses unless you are logged into Trac.

• Download failing with Internal Server Error #16023
  • User gets an Internal Server Error whenever downloading ChimeraX.
  • Message says it is from localhost which is not the message plato would give.
  • Our logs show not connection made.
  • Appears security software (proxy, firewall, vpn) is blocking the connection, possibly because of the .py suffix on the CGI-bin script that serves the license.
  • Eric will advise users.

• Qt 6.7.3 released
  • Greg will update Qt 6.7.2 to 6.7.3 which has just come out.
  • Mac Qt 6.7.2 crashes when unplugging an external display (seen by TomG at end of group meeting) and we need some fix or work-around for the ChimeraX 1.9 release.

• Continuous integration with Github Actions
  • Mac notarization is working.
  • Zach wants help with Windows signing of distribution.
  • Greg says it is done with InnoSetup, needs a password that should not be exposed.
  • Zach wants to know if all distributions need all bundles based on Rocky 8. Greg says yes so that third party bundles work if they are built for Rocky 8.
