Discussion
- ChimeraX 1.7 Release
- Aim to have 1.7 ready for release at next Monday's ChimeraX meeting.
- This Thursday group meeting get report on whether Greg and Zach have fixed two unresolved 1.7 tickets.
- Reviewed 1.7 tickets
- Decided flatpak should not hold up release. Can put out 1.7.1 flatpak distribution later once it has been tested in daily builds for some time.
- Signing up for chimerax announce in ChimeraX registration gives 404 error. Fixing this has high priority.
- Zach will check in patch to fix user-installed bundles interfering with builds.
- Two of Greg's tickets in feedback (session restore problem, mmcif problem) have no response for 4 weeks and should be closed.
- Toolshed problem with dependencies with multiple architectures will not be tied to 1.7 release (probably only involves Toolshed server side).
- Zach's 3 1.7 tickets that he does not plan to do for 1.7 should have 1.7 milestone removed.
- Zach has additional dicom fix for 1.7 he will check in today.
- NIAID next contract
- Looked over copy of last NIAID statement of work before we cut items.
- Main categories of work: ChimeraX improvements for NIAID, NIH 3D pipeline, VR, medical imaging probably remain the same.
- Discussed whether to add implementing a docking service, possibly with Shoichet lab. Compute resources may be limited.
- Discussed work on medical image presets and rendering capabilities.
- Discussed standalone VR vs PC VR for medical imaging.
