Discussion
- ChimeraX 1.7 release candidate
- Eric, Zach and Tom ready for release candidates
- Not sure if Greg is ready, did not attend meeting.
- Reviewed 1.7 tickets. Greg has about half-dozen that look important to fix for 1.7. About 10 others look like they can be remilestoned.
- Will schedule new meeting as soon as Greg available this week and remilestone tickets and assess remaining tickets. Then decide if release candidate must be delayed.
- Wynton downtime
- Wynton down Monday October 30 - Friday Nov 3, possibly fewer days.
- Any way we can keep ChimeraX web site and downloads running? Greg would know best. Seems hard.
- Bug report and mailing list email will be held on cgl mail server until plato comes back up.
- We will announce downtime Thursday and/or Friday, user list and Twitter.
- ChimeraX for Windows System on Linux (WSL)
- User asked about making ChimeraX work on WSL.
- Zach says he installed ChimeraX on Ubuntu 22 WSL installation and it ran two months ago. Says it is significantly slower than running on Windows.
- Zach believes a ChimeraX on Windows can read and write files written by WSL.
- Tom will ask user what their WSL ChimeraX problem is.
- Phenix workshop in Kansas
- Zach will give ChimeraX cryoEM talk/demo/tutorial at Phenix workshop at Kansas University, November 9.
- He could show Phenix douse or emplace_local tools using ChimeraX interface.
- Need to install Phenix and test with workshop version.
- Also should show basic cryoEM viz in ChimeraX.
- Zach on vacation, back Oct 30.
- Grafana web services monitoring
- Zach and Greg have not worked on it since last meeting.
