Discussion Notes

• macOS 10.15 support for ChimeraX 1.7
  • Decided to continue to support macOS 10.15 and 10.14 for ChimeraX 1.7 release in Nov/Dec 2023.
  • Do this by using Qt 6.3. Will use this in tonight's daily builds.
  • Latest Qt 6.5 requires macOS 11 minimum.
  • Will switch to latest Qt after release in 4 months.
  • Use Qt 6.3 (from ChimeraX 1.5) instead of Qt 6.4 (from ChimeraX 1.6) because frequent (reported almost every day) Qt 6.4 Mac dual display crash.
  • Elaine's office 2012 iMac should be replaced by end of 2023 so she will be able to test post ChimeraX 1.7 daily builds that will require macOS 11. Her machine cannot be updated beyond macOS 10.15
