• Selina Information Commons access
  • Selina still having trouble getting data from UCSF Information Commons due to lack of UCSF email address.
  • Appears UCSF IT has not reinstated her email even though HR added her as a contractor(?) a month ago.
  • Trying to get deidentified (non-PHI) ML training data.

• ESPALOMA machine learning molecular dynamics parameters
  • Eric plans to provide SPICE database with ChimeraX computed IDATM types and charges to Altos to train network to predict these simulation parameters.
  • Altos Labs wants copyright on resulting PyPi package or bundle.
  • Tom Ferrin says it is fine for them to use Eric's data since UCSF has an open data policy.

• Web browser zero-day threats
  • Greg says some zero-day (actively exploited) web browser security holes effecting Chrome, Firefox, ... this week.
  • Discussed whether we should warn in documentation that ChimeraX builtin web browser is not very secure against malicious web sites.
  • Seems not necessary given that the ChimeraX browser is not for general browsing.

• Zach work in progress (​slides)
  • Many dicom bugs fixed.
  • Showed 3D segmentation with mouse or VR.
  • Grafana web service dash boards work on test server.
  • PyPi distribution of ChimeraX, suggest keeping user commands and toolshed in the package.
  • Task manager initial support in, session save possible.
  • Natural language interface, tried Google speech to text but still considering middle layer to convert to command syntax.

• Meta Connect meeting
  • TomG reports 2-day meeting focused on mixed reality with new Quest 3 and AI large language model Llama 2.
