• UCSF IT security audit
  • Scooter went to meeting where Josh presented
  • Scooter told meeting containerization costs not practical for research lab.
  • Not practical to have lab to pay for their own logging server
  • Audit MCA deadline is Sept 30 with department reporting to UC Regents
  • Will be hard to make deadline since no audit items have been resolved yet.

    • Now handles per-model clip planes.
    • Some features not available in ChimeraX, e.g. ribbon worms and scenes
    • Probably won't migrate nucleotides since data structures are black box
    • Eric will give Zach CZI annual report info for session converter progress
    • Tom Ferrin asks what the plan is to complete ports of Chimera features.
    • Zach suggest he can do some porting
  • Web services
    • Opal has been removed, replaced by REST
    • Zach working on web page to track daily use statistics
  • Qt 6 port
    • Complete
  • Vulkan graphics
    • Not funded. Don't plan to pursue this. Mac arm64 GPU fixes opengl.
  • Mac M1 port
    • Zach suggests 1.5 release
    • Scooter suggests making techpreview now
    • Tom Ferrin says Mac M1 will be out 2 years by our 1.5 release, seem we are slow to support it.
    • Can 1.5 release be soon?
    • Will briefly (5 minutes) present 1.5 roadmap ideas next Thursday.
  • PyPi packaging
    • Background work, core moved to bundles, setuptools updated, bundle builder work in progress
    • Most of PyPi packaging may be documentation

• Zach other work
  • Added "pip install" ChimeraX command
  • Providing DICOM gdcm package via pip install that allows reading lossless jpeg
  • Task manager gui in progress

• NIAID monthly report due
  • Scooter will send link, everyone update progress in report.

• Next developer meeting
  • Can meet Tuesday or Wednesday next week to make sure 1.5 roadmap ready for Thursday presentation.
