  • Scooter submitted statement of work to MSC
  • Darrell Hurt can strike out line items in SOW
  • Aiming for April 1 start date for next contract

• NIH grant overlapping goals
  • Tom Ferrin required to explain how RBVI funding sources do not have overlapping goals.
  • Gave explanation for R01, Phenix R24, CZI, and NIAID.
  • Need to check what Dyche Mullins funding source goals are.

• Group meeting plan
  • Pandemic zoom group meetings have been mostly for informal communication.
  • Scooter suggests having on-site meetings have one main speaker.
  • Grant leads will speak about progress on grant goals.
  • Elaine can give journal club or tutorial presentations.
  • Greg can give new technology presentations.
  • Presentation can be 30 minutes to an hour.
  • Extra time can be used for announcements and informal discussion.

• New Mac processor
  • Mac M1 Ultra processor released in new Mac Studio computer (shape of Mac Mini but thicker).
  • Two Mac M1 Max processors joined on one die, 2.5x faster.

• cgl.ucsf.edu email security
  • UCSF IT says CGL email must run same filters, spam detection, url checks as ucsf.edu email system.
  • Don't expect this to change how email is accessed.
  • May need to ask for exemptions to allow things like:
    • Attaching Python code to an email.
    • Large email attachment sizes.
  • Scooter meeting on Monday large group charged with helping us meet security audit goals.

• Move toolshed to it's own IP address and it's own Apache instance -- Greg/Scooter
