The error message is incomplete, which is a bug. It should be "not a legal chain id {chain_id}, only a-z, A-Z, 0-9 allowed" where "{chain_id}" is substituted with the offending value.

Can you reproduce the error by openning /Users/jitendramaharana/Desktop/CCC.pdb and trying to save it as a .cif? If so, please add it to this ticket, or, to keep it private, send it to me directly at gregc@…. It will be much easier to fix if I have a simple way to reproduce it.
