Using the daily build on sussex and on Zach's Mac, "help info" opens a zero-height help window (window decorations normal, but contents zero height).

This bug was introduced by adding line 2156 in ui/gui.py on August 2

self.shown = True # to guarantee it is also raised

in commit

Commenting out that line fixes the problem.

The only machine this seems to work correctly on is my home development machine. Sigh.

Took out the 'self.shown = True'. We'll see if that helps. Will need to find another technique to ensure that tool windows that start tabbed are raised, and that the Modeller tool windows start in front of the main window.

Seems that the problem is that when the Help Viewer is initially constructed, it has no tabs (they are added in a later step) and therefore the viewer may start out with a minimal-height tab area. Added a hack to force the window to a reasonable size initially: ​https://github.com/RBVI/ChimeraX/commit/adc68992a11d52b486986cb2ce63f466f2bd8b1f
