Description

Dear ChimeraX developers,

I am in need of assistance restoring .cxs session files that fail to open after being saved in v1.6.1.

After installing v1.6.1., opening .cxs session files, and saving said files via command line w/o any additional flags, I am unable to re-open these sessions in 1.6.1 or any previous versions of ChimeraX.

I attempted to submit a bug report, but the window froze after hitting submit.

My coworker John (cc'd) is versed in python and suspects the error arises when loading "NucleotideState" data.

This the log file (file names redacted):

I have +10 of these sessions that I am currently unable to open. Each has multiple carefully selected views saved, so I would be grateful for any help in restoring these sessions.

Thank you in advance for your help!

I've checked in a possible fix. Please try it with a daily build from October 27th or later. It would also help if you sent me a session file that is buggy. So I can figure exactly where it went wrong. If you want to keep the session private, send it directly to me at gregc@… or via dropbox or other file sharing website.
