Description
Hello, Thank you so much for making chimeraX better each day. The UI in chemiraX makes the workflow much more effective already. I have a quick question and that is I wonder if this is the intentional design in MacOS but everytime we open a new chimeraX session, the Toolbar and the main windows are always overlapped. We must then manually move the windows down so that we can see the toolbar. Is there anyway that I can combine the toolbar and the chimeraX windows into 1? or can we have them aligned properly upon opening? MacOSBig Sur 11.7.4 mac mini M1 4K 27 LG monitor. ChimeraX version 1.6.1 (2023-05-09) Best, Loc Huynh

Hi Loc,
I'm not sure how you managed to do this without realizing it, but you have changed the default ChimeraX settings so that the toolbar does not start docked into the top of the ChimeraX main window. Instead, it starts out undocked and floating on top of the ChimeraX window, blocking part of the graphics window and the log.
To fix this start ChimeraX the way you have it now and then right-click on the blank area on the right side of the toolbar. In the context menu that comes up, make sure "Dockable Tool" is checked. Then dock the toolbar into the ChimeraX main window by grabbing the toolbar title bar and moving the toolbar to hover it near the top of the ChimeraX window. The ChimeraX graphics area and log should then move down to open up an empty area and releasing the toolbar should "drop" the toolbar into the top of the ChimeraX window. Once it's there, again right click on a blank area of the toolbar this time choose "Save Tool Position" from the context menu. Then the next time you start ChimeraX the toolbar should start out docked at the top of the main window.
