Description

Hello,

I have tried installing UCSF ChimeraX 1.6.1 on a work PC and the installation runs fine with no issues. When either opening ChimeraX with or without a PDB file it loads up with issues on the graphical interface. If I load a PDB, I can physically see the model but I have none of the selections normally available to me when I have previously used it on PC/Macbook (no drop down menus etc.). If I minimise or expand the window it also does weird things to the display where multiple lines will be shown as below. There is clearly something going on that doesn't allow my PC to cope with the graphics output. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling and restarting my PC with no luck. Any ideas?

This is probably due to a buggy graphics/video driver. To find out what 3D graphics hardware you have and what the driver version is, run the dxdiag program. Then look at the Display tab to see what you have. Also, please click on "Save All Information", and send us the saved file, so we have a record of that information too. With that information, we can give you specific instructions on how to update the graphics driver.

Greg is right. This is certainly a problem with your Windows graphics driver. The solution is to update the graphics driver.
