The command stmset is mainly used to restore the StarMap session values shown in the user interface. This error appeared when calling stmset without opening the plugin first via "Tools->More Tools...".

The issue is fixed in v1.1.75 of StarMap available via the usual install/upgrade mechanism inside ChimeraX. The command stmset checks now if the StarMap user interface is already initialized and will open it first (if not) before setting the value.
