Save dialog should add file suffix if none typed in

Description

The File / Save... dialog currently does not add the file suffix if a file name without a suffix is entered. Then the written file cannot be opened in ChimeraX without specifying the format. Probably should add the suffix if none given.

In my testing, it does add a suffix when none was provided. Perhaps you can demonstrate, or provide greater detail about how you wound up with no suffix?

File / Save…
Choose “PDB” from save dialog format menu
enter file name “test”
press Save button

This saves a file named test with no “.pdb” extension.  Same happens saving OBJ files.  ChimeraX session files do add the “.cxs” sufffix but it seems no other formats do.
