Description
The File / Save... dialog currently does not add the file suffix if a file name without a suffix is entered. Then the written file cannot be opened in ChimeraX without specifying the format. Probably should add the suffix if none given.

open 1a0m File / Save… Choose “PDB” from save dialog format menu enter file name “test” press Save button This saves a file named test with no “.pdb” extension. Same happens saving OBJ files. ChimeraX session files do add the “.cxs” sufffix but it seems no other formats do.

In my testing, it does add a suffix when none was provided. Perhaps you can demonstrate, or provide greater detail about how you wound up with no suffix?
