This error comes from a file with an RT PLAN modality.

It has no conventional pixel data, though there's information in the file about radiotherapy beams. Should we skip RT PLAN files?

Perhaps I can investigate what this program: http://www.rtmedes.com/ does with the data set

It would be reasonable to skip them for the purposes of model creation. Should probably say something about that in the Log, e.g. "No model created for RT PLAN series" or something like that.

Secondarily (depending on level of difficulty, will let you decide), may still want to list them in the DICOM browser and allow opening their metadata from that dialog.

OK, as of this commit (which also defers rendering to sort the studies) we warn about and skip those studies.

Thanks! Now I see a warning like this:

Processed Series #7 from patient 0522c0027 but did not open it as a model as it had no pixel data. Metadata will stillbe available.

Note there is a typo, you need a space "still be" ... and I suggest other changes including mentioning RT PLAN modality (if possible). Maybe something like:

No model created for Series #7 from patient 0522c0027 because RTPLAN does not have pixel data. Metadata will still be available.

- OR -

Processed Series #7 from patient 0522c0027 but did not create model because it has no pixel data (modality RT PLAN). Metadata will still be available.

I like the first one; I'll get it fixed. Thanks!

Mostly fixed but changing warning text as in comments 6 and 7 still to do....

Left out the modality but did reword it to be more concise as in the first phrasing.

Guess I object to omitting the modality, because it:
 (1) helps to explain why there is no pixel data
 (2) helps people figure out which listings in the Metadata Browser don't have corresponding models.

Oops I mean to say DICOM Browser not Metadata Browser in the previous comment. The main impetus of my suggestion was to include the modality, whereas the more concise wording just happened as a side effect.
