May be worth keeping this one open. It's the first ticket I've seen where the crash in the open file dialog happened on Linux and not Windows.

Hi Ibrahim,

Thanks for reporting this problem. I would recommend upgrading to ChimeraX 1.4, which uses an entirely new version of the Qt Windowing toolkit and which therefore may solve this problem without you having to do anything else. If the problem persists in 1.4, let us know and we will investigate further.
