Appears it was in the C++ ribbon_extrusions() code called by _ribbon_geometry(). The log shows it crashed when the selection was cleared. That should not recompute the ribbon, so that is mysterious. The error is "Python aborted" rather than a segmentation fault.

Don't see any clues that would indicate what caused the crash.
