Hello Eric,

I had just completed a string of commands to label selected residues and
adjust their label properties. At the exact moment of the crash (the first
time), I just clicked on "About ChimeraX" to see the version I had. The
second time it crashed, I had clicked on the previously saved session. Does
this information help?

This crash was not reproducible. I tried to recreate it, but it has not crashed since the second incident yesterday.

Never mind. Soon as I sent this email, it crashed without me doing anything in the program. I will send the last session opened.

Thanks for the session. Unfortunately, I have not been able to reproduce the bug so far. I also used your session to run a memory debugger (on Linux where I have the tool), and didn't find anything.

So what to do. With mysterious bugs, our standard response is that you should update your graphics driver. This doesn't appear to be a graphics driver bug, but it shouldn't hurt. Your driver is version 511.79. 512.95 is available from nvidia.com. Another thing to try is to not use the SideView tool and see if that improves things. That is a stab in the dark, but I noticed that you used it in your session, and most people don't.

So, are you still seeing this bug? Did you try updating the graphics driver? Stop using the SideView tool? Maybe we could zoom and you could show me the bug in action.

I have not seen this bug in a while. I stopped using SideView tool constantly and just made sure not too many programs were running at the same time.
