Crash was in _PyObject_Call apparently Qt calling a callback function we registered. We have received many reports of this kind of crash. I suspect it is a PyQt reference counting bug where a Python callback function object is deleted because its reference count drops to zero, and yet it is still referenced by being connected to some PyQt signal. When that signal fires it crashes calling the deleted function.

We should probably investigate this crash mechanism, file a PyQt bug report if we can figure it out, and work around it in our code making sure Qt callbacks are kept alive or disconnected.
