Description
Hello, ChimeraX support! My name is Sergey Petrov and I'm a researcher at Russian Institute of Influenza at Saint Petersburg, Russia. I've downloaded newest version of USCF Chimera, ChimeraX, and fased the problem with opening my recent sessions saved in *.py or *.pyc formats. The programm log reports the following: ImportError: No module named 'cPickle' File "FlgSh_H2_4Me_hshs_1.py", line 1, in <module> See log for Python traceback. The problem occurs while performing File->Open->any_previous_chimera_file.py As an example I'm sending a file which works well with USCF Chimera v.1.10.2. Contacting IT wasn't helpful, they said this message doesn't give enough information. I'm using Windows 7 Professional 64x, ChimeraX v0.1, free academic lisense. Hope for solving the problem, always yours, Sergey Petrov

Hi Sergei,
ChimeraX is not a new version of UCSF Chimera. It was designed and written from scratch. While having similarities to UCSF Chimera, it is not backwards compatible (as noted on the download page) and cannot open UCSF Chimera sessions. You will have to continue to use UCSF Chimera (latest version: 1.11.2) to work with those sessions. Sorry!
