Description
Ran alphafold search which is basically just blastprotein on the alphafold database.  This worked the last 5 times I tried it this morning, so seems to be a transient error.

Repeating the same alphafold search again succeeded in the same session right after the failed attempt. So the error not easily reproduced.

The rarity of this bug (it's only personally happened to me once since this ticket was opened) makes me wonder if it's a rare case of ChimeraX trying to query the job's status as the job's status is in the process of being written by the backend; i.e. I'm looking at updating the backend to make the status part of runtime memory and not a file that has to be opened, written, closed, etc.

When I looked at the job from the original bug report on Plato it had run properly.

Added some guard code that checks whether status is one of 'created', 'pending', 'running', 'complete', 'failed', 'deleted', and sets it to 'pending' if it's not in that list.

A more robust solution will come from the planned refactor.
