The following is my computer's ERROR information | | zhpshbkp1998 | | zhpshbkp1998@163.com | 签名由网易邮箱大师定制 On 8/12/2021 01:54,ChimeraX<ChimeraX-bugs-admin@cgl.ucsf.edu> wrote: #5038: the problem with chimerax install -------------------------------------+------------------------ Reporter: zhpshbkp1998@… | Owner: Greg Couch Type: defect | Status: feedback Priority: normal | Milestone: Component: Platform | Version: Resolution: | Keywords: Blocked By: | Blocking: Notify when closed: | Platform: all Project: ChimeraX | -------------------------------------+------------------------ Changes (by Greg Couch): * status: assigned => feedback Comment: Can you give us more information? First, please temporarily switch your computer to English by going to Settings (the gear icon on the Start menu), then the Time & Language settings. Then, in the Language section, switch the Windows display language to English. Next, run the dxdiag application (type dxdiag into the search bar by the Start button to find it). And then click on the "Save All Information..." button to save a text file, typically DxDiag.txt. We are only interested in the contents of the System and Display tabs, so you can edit the text file to remove the other information if you wish, but it is much easier to send everything. After that, run the Event Viewer application (type Event in the search bar the Start button to find it). And now try to Start the ChimeraX application. There should be at least one event related to the startup failure -- look in Custom Views / Administrative Events and Windows Logs / Application. Select those events, and then use the menu item Action / Copy / Copy Details as Text to get that information and then paste it into your reply. And that is it for now. You can switch your computer back to your preferred language. -- Ticket URL: <https://www.rbvi.ucsf.edu/trac/ChimeraX/ticket/5038#comment:2> ChimeraX <https://www.rbvi.ucsf.edu/chimerax/> ChimeraX Issue Tracker

dxdiag says your graphics card is "Microsoft Basic Display Adapter", which means that you forgot to install a graphics driver for your system. Go to https://downloadcenter.intel.com/ and download the graphics driver for your Intel Core i5-7500 CPU. According to the specifications for the i5-7500, you have "Intel HD Graphics 630". Please let us know if installing the Intel graphics driver fixes the problem for you or if it doesn't.
That said, I would recommend getting an AMD or NVIDIA graphics card for your system and using that instead of the Intel graphics. Your computer is good for small models, but would benefit a lot from better graphics.
