Description
The following bug report has been submitted: Platform: macOS-10.15.7-x86_64-i386-64bit ChimeraX Version: 1.3.dev202108070803 (2021-08-07 08:03:28 UTC) Description Is it possible to copy part of a sequence from a Sequence Viewer panel? I select it with mouse and it shows with green highlight and then use Cmd+C on Mac but nothing is copied. I also did not see any menu entry to copy the subsequence I selected. The subsequence I wanted were the residues with coordinates in PDB model 6zva and I was trying to paste this into an AlphaFold web application to make a structure prediction. The best I could come up with was to save a Fasta file and then try to locate the boundaries of the subsequence in my text editor to copy it -- very painful. Copying a sequence in Chimera actually brings up a dialog because there are several parameters needed: which sequence to copy; do you want gap characters removed; do you want the full sequence or limited to the active region. I imagine it will be the same in ChimeraX.

Implemented same copy-sequence feature set that Chimera had. Dialog can be summoned via Edit→Copy Sequence context menu or by whatever the copy key sequence is for the platform (if the focus is in the sequence window).
Note:
See TracTickets
for help on using tickets.
One of the many capabilities that the Chimera sequence viewer has that the ChimeraX one does not.
