Hi Eric, Thanks for your reply. I'm sorry that the report may disturb you since when I reported I just think it would be a regular message for data collection by computers. I'm studying with ribosome 80S, and need to label the chains in different colors and do some analysis with different small molecules like interaction surface and bind, etc. I also want to align with different ribosomes and do some docking, though I'm still studying doing these by ChimeraX. But it frequently crashes down when I want to have the surface as the final export in the image. It also happens when I'm using PyMol as the file is too large with more than 80 chains and additional operating data like colors and labels. By the way, I also have problems that after working and save the file the chain announcing would missing when I saved it as a Chimera file or other types. It is a big problem for me that I have can not tell every chain later on. Recently, I treat this problem by not close the program and computer which is extremely harmful to my hardware. Thanks again! Hi Yutian,
Thanks for the information, we will investigate. As for the problem with the chain information missing, you are in luck -- that was just fixed. If you download the daily build then sessions will remember the chain descriptions properly. Also, there is a "log chains" command for showing the chain table at the end of the log again, to make it easy to find (again, only in the daily build).

Does ChimeraX crash when you try to show the surface? Or does it crash later when you try to save an image file with the surface?
I suspect it is either a graphics driver problem or out of memory problem. Your graphics GeForce GT 720M (circa 2013) is very old and 8 Gbytes of memory is small for working with large ribosome structures -- 16 Gbyte would be better. Neither of these limitations are things we can fix.
