It looks like these reports may not be real crashes. It may be Python faulthandler is logging a signal that was caught and did not cause a crash. Here is some info about that possibility.

The Python fault handler output says

Windows fatal exception: code 0x8001010d

Online sources say this exception is RPC_E_CANTCALLOUT_ININPUTSYNCCALL

This Python bug report fixed in 2017 was to prevent faulthandler from dumping specific Microsoft exceptions that get caught and don't cause an application crash.

Our crash report code removes the faulthandler output file in an atexit() routine. So it seems likely that ChimeraX really did crash an atexit routines were not handled.
