The following bug report has been submitted:
Platform: macOS-10.15.7-x86_64-i386-64bit
ChimeraX Version: 1.3.dev202105180049 (2021-05-18 00:49:36 UTC)
Description
color byattribute colors residues even when none of the residue atoms has the specified attribute value. The atoms are colored correctly with atoms that don't have the attribute keeping their original color.
To test this I moved an atomic model so it was half way within the outline box of some volume data and used "measure mapvalues #2 atoms #1". This requires May 21 ChimeraX (tonight's daily) because I just changed measure mapvalues to not assign map values for atoms outside the volume box -- before it assigned them 0.

In one of the code paths in "color byattr", the length of the array of residue values was equal to the number of atoms rather than the number of residues.
