Can you share your all_states-session-18.cxs file with us? You can either attach it to your reply or, if you want to keep it private, email it to me directly at gregc@….

And can you tell me more about the providence of the .cxs file? That code path should only be used for session files that were created with pre-1.0 versions of ChimeraX.

You can send the session file directly to me at gregc@… and I will not share it with anyone else and I'll delete it after the bug is fixed. Does that work for you?

Status: assigned → closed

This appears to be the same bug as #4393.

The session file was probably created in a ChimeraX daily build with LZ4 compression. Older versions of ChimeraX, eg., 1.1, don't recognize it and fail to restore it.

The fix is to use a newer version of ChimeraX. So, the ChimeraX 1.2 release once it comes out, or a daily build.
