Strange. Modern graphics RTX 2080 with current Oct 7, 2020 driver but OpenGL fails on startup when expose event on status line received. Probably the makeCurrent failed, code checks for that, but gave no error then glClear() fails. Maybe makeCurrent() worked but there is no draw buffer? Maybe the window is not really ready? The glClear docs give only two ways to get Invalid Operation (wrong mask argument, or execution between glBegin and glEnd, neither looks possible.
