Description
The following bug report has been submitted: Platform: Darwin-19.6.0-x86_64-i386-64bit ChimeraX Version: 1.1.dev202008222039 (2020-08-22 20:39:48 UTC) Description Pasting a command into the command line and then typing additional options causes it to run the pasted part as one command and the typed part as a second command generating the last two error messages in this reply log. I copy from the Log the first command (select + Command-C) which gave the error saying the .OBJ suffix was unrecognized. I then pasted it into the command-line and typed at the end of that command " format obj" and pressed enter. It then ran two commands, the original pasted command with no "format obj" option, and then ran "format obj" as a separate command giving the "Unknow command" error. Yes reproducible. I see with your hints the trick is I drag select in the log by pressing at the start of the command and dragging to the start of the next line. Apparently this includes the new line character. When I paste into the command-line I see a space at the end of the command. I guess this space is really a new line. If the command-line can't show the newline maybe the command-line should strip out all new lines before running the command?

Odd. I tried exactly that before with no problem. Tried again now, still no problem. For instance, if I execute "log text close" and the select copy the echoed command + the next line, it pastes as "log text closeclose" and executes as one log command. Can you try an actual daily build instead of your personal build?

Ok, tried with daily build, same error. I tested with commands "open 1a0m" then copy from the Log and add "format pdb". When I paste the "open 1a0m" it shows a space character at the end.

Okay, I figured out how to reproduce it now. You have to have the log set to show executable command link instead of help pages to get the behavior you're describing.
Fix might not happen until after branching, though it will go into both branches...

Okay, pushed fixes to both develop and release.
I _suspect_ I know what is happening. The command line will accept multiple lines of commands pasted in at once (e.g. copied from a file) and will execute them in turn when the user then presses Return. I'm guessing that somehow a newline somehow wound up on the end of your paste, so that the two parts got executed separately. However, I cannot reproduce the behavior you describe. The copy, paste + typing always works fine for me. I'd like to be able to produce the problem behavior before essaying a fix. Does it happen reliably for you? Is there any trick in what to select exactly?
