On Windows 10 with ChimeraX 1.0 and an atomic model open it continues to work correctly for me when the window is maximized by clicking the window frame maximize button. Is that how you are maximizing? I have read and seen that Qt OpenGL fullscreen mode has problems rendering but I don't think there is any way for you to switch into fullscreen. Are you using two displays? That could be a factor. Might be useful to provide a screen capture to see exactly what it looks like.
