#3431 closed enhancement (fixed)

Add Fedora to RPM list

Description

As a whole, a Linux version (on Fedora 32), x64.rpm, of ChimeraX 1.1 works better than 1.0 one on Windows 10.
Thus, you could add Fedora to RHEL/CentOS in your rpm list.

Sorry, I don't quite follow. Which rpm are you taking about? I would guess the CentOS/RHEL 8 rpm and not the CentOS/RHEL 7 rpm? And which version of Fedora are you taking about? Fedora 31? It makes sense to add a recommendation for Fedora users to get the CentOS/RHEL 8 rpm, but I have not tested it, so please confirm that is true.

And can you explain what you mean by the "Linux version ... works better"? The Windows 10 ChimeraX 1.1dev should also be better than ChimeraX 1.0 in the same way that the Linux version is. Please let us know if that is not true. The only exception should be if you have a buggy Intel graphics driver.

Looking forward to hearing back from you,

Greg

ChimeraX 1.1 on Fedora 32 (version CentOS/RHEL 8 rpm) is OK.
Thus, it could be written as a rpm version for CentOS/RHEL 8/Fedora 32.

CentOS 8 was based on Fedora 28, so saying RedHat 8/CentOS 8/Fedora 28+ and switched the installation instructions from using yum to dnf.
