Subject: ChimeraX suggestion - including metadata with saved images?

Hi Tom,
Silly little suggestion that may or may not be practical, ignore if the latter.
Would it be possible to write information to the EXIF when saving as TIFF or JPG?
Particularly I am thinking about information pertaining to volume display - in figures it is common practice to give the map threshold as either an absolute value or in x r.m.s. terms. This requires remembering what threshold I used, or writing it in the filename. If it was possible to automatically record this information in the EXIF that would be a great help, and perhaps if it is possible there might be other information that would be useful to record here too - e.g. the paths and names of displayed models and maps.
Cheers,
Oliver.
On Mac, Preview image inspector shows some EXIF tags, including the "Image description" tag. That tag would probably be the best to use for adding meta-data to saved images.
The Chimera Save Image dialog has an Image Description entry field that puts text into the TIFF EXIF Image description tag.
