Description
Surface cap still doesn't work (new session, recently loaded volume, no other operations). I also tried the production release of chimerax and it doesnt work there either.

As your "surface cap" command says, you have surface caps turned off. I guess you turned this off in ChimeraX Preferences under Clipping.
